Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon are Central Florida’s premier angling destinations, located just over an hour from the attractions in Orlando. Recognized as the “Redfish Capital of the World,” these waters offer some of the best redfish flats in the country, with schools exceeding 100 fish found at any time of year. The redfish can exceed 40 pounds in the summer months. Mosquito Lagoon is part of the 156-mile long Indian River Lagoon Estuary within the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, home to hundreds of migratory birds and several endangered animals.
