Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Reykjavik Iceland
Welcome to Reykjavik! Upon arrival be transferred to your hotel then enjoy a free day to adjust to the time change and explore Iceland’s capital.
Day 2: Reykjavik
Spend today at your leisure! Maybe you want a relaxing morning, then a museum or a whale-watching tour may be the right fit. If you are feeling adventurous, consider horseback riding, dogsledding or an ice or lava cave tour. So many choices! At 6 pm, meet your Bluegreen Host, Tour Director and travel companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel.

Day 3: Reykjavik – Thingvellir – Geysir – Gullfoss –Kirkjubaerklaustur
Start your day with orientation drive through Reykjavik. Next, travel to Thingvellir National Park, the only place in the world where separation between the North American and European geological rift (tectonic plates) are above sea level. Nowhere in the world are the edges of both plates as clearly visible than the rift valley in Thingvellir National Park. Here you can stand on two continents at the same time! Stop at the famous thermal area of Geysir to admire the hot springs and taste local specialties with a glass of Geysir Schnapps. Take pictures at the Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, a stunning 100-foot double cascade, en route to your final destination of the day Kirkjubaerklaustur.

Day 4: Kirkjubaerklaustur – Excursion to Skaftafell, Vatnajokull National Park & Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Skaftafell, gateway to Vatnajokull National Park which is the largest national park in Europe. You will stop at Iceland’s most famous glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón. Then snap photos to capture the astonishing beauty of Vatnajökull, Iceland's largest ice cap!

Day 5: Kirkjubaerklaustur – Reynisfjara – Skogafoss – Seljalandsfoss—Hellisheiaarvirkjun – Reykjavik
Travel to the world-famous black sand beach, Reynisfjara, rated by Tripadvisor in 2023 as the number four beach in the world to visit! Enjoy a scenic drive along the Skogafoss and Seljandsfoss waterfalls. In Hellisheiaarvirkjun, visit the geothermal heat and electric power station. As you return to Reykjavik, this evening enjoy an excursion to see the Northern Lights (weather permitting)! The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is one of the most dramatic, natural phenomena that can be seen. A magical, natural light display that is only visible from a few places in the world. One of the best locations to witness this incredible event is Iceland.

Day 6: Reykjavik
The name of Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavik, means “smoky bay.” It was named by the first settlers after the columns of steam that they could observe rising from its geothermal springs. Today, Reykjavik has numerous geothermal swimming pools which are considered social hubs by many locals. Today you will relax at the Blue Lagoon, where you can take a dip in the pleasantly warm, mineral-rich waters of the geothermal pool located in the middle of a dramatic lava field! Then it will be time to bid your fellow travelers farewell with dinner at a local restaurant.
