Day 1: Friday, October 11, 2024 | Arrive in Casablanca, Morocco

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Casablanca. Later, meet your Bluegreen Host, Tour Director and your travel companions as you begin to discover the vibrant culture and colorful backdrops that are distinctively Morocco!

Day 2: Saturday, October 12, 2024 | Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez

Skirt the Atlantic coast to Rabat, once a lair of the corsairs and now the country’s capital. See the grand Royal Palace, the minaret of an incomplete mosque known as Hassan Tower, and the whitewashed buildings in Kasbah of Oudayas. Continue to Meknes, one of four Imperial cities in Morocco where you will see its monumental gates, mosque, palace, and miles of protective walls, one of the best examples of Almohad architecture. Next visit the Royal stables, originally built to once house 12,000 of the royal horses! Finish your day traveling east towards Fez, Morocco’s most enchanting city.

Day 3: Sunday, October 13, 2024 | Fez

Today discover the holy city of Fez, a jewel of Spanish-Arabic culture famous for its old quarter. Visit the exotic ancient Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you walk through a maze of narrow, bustling streets and alleys that are home to brilliantly hued souks. You will also enjoy lunch at a local restaurant today. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure exploring the city further, consider strolling through the marketplace or visiting a museum.

Day 4: Monday, October 14, 2024 | Fez – Ifrane – Erfoud

Travel today into the very heart of Morocco. Stop in the quiet, French-built alpine mountain resort of Ifrane. Verdant cedar forests give way to volcanic mountains and windswept plains as you travel across the Middle Atlas range. Pass fortified mud-and-straw villages and descend into the spectacular Ziz gorges. The landscape becomes progressively more arid as you enter a stony desert. Approaching Erfoud, encounter an unexpected and breathtaking surprise: the peaceful oasis of the Ziz Valley.

Day 5: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 | Erfoud

Welcome to Erfoud, called the “Door to the Desert,” and where many famous movies were filmed including “The Prince of Persia” and “The Mummy!” This morning travel to Rissani to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Sharif, the first ruler of the Alaouite Dynasty. This evening watch the sunset from the highest dunes in Morocco on a memorable four-wheel-drive experience in the Sahara Desert featuring a visit to an authentic Berber tent!

Day 6: Wednesday, October 16, 2024 | Erfoud – The Road Of A Thousand Kasbahs – Ouarzazate

Upon leaving Erfoud, we learn about the Khettaras, ancient underground irrigation systems. Enjoy the drive along The Road of a Thousand Kashbahs where turreted fortresses rise up like sandcastles along this ancient trading route. As you travel along the eastern slopes of the Atlas Mountains you will arrive at the Tinerhir oasis with its green valley of palms and local villages. You will also see the impressive Todra Gorge and Dades Valley before arriving in the film capital of Morocco, Ouarzazate. You will visit the Kasbah de Taourirt, the intricate and fascinating residence of Pasha Thami el Glaoui.

Day 7: Thursday, October 17, 2024 | Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Tizi-N-Tichka Pass – Marrakesh

Travel to Aït Benhaddou, an ancient, fortified city, famous as a film location for “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Gladiator.” Pass through picturesque villages surrounded by craggy mountains towards 7,414-foot-high Tizi-n-Tichka Pass in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Each new twist in the road leads to a different, more dramatic landscape. Leaving the pass behind, see the landscape gradually change to a tapestry of red ochre. Enter the gates of the red-hued imperial city of Marrakesh, justly considered the most fascinating of all Moroccan cities. This evening enjoy “1001 nights in Marrakesh,” an impressive feast of local specialties and wine with an amazing folklore show featuring music, belly dancing and more!

Take an orientation drive with a Local Guide through Marrakesh followed by a walk through the ancient quarters. You will visit the fascinating Jemaa-el-Fna square and its exotic bazaar, Bahia Palace, as well as Majorelle Gardens. You’ll feel as if you’ve stopped the march of time.

Day 9: Saturday, October 19, 2024 | Marrakesh - Casablanca

Leave Morocco’s magical city of Marrakesh for the journey back to Casablanca. On arrival, see the main sights visiting the largest functioning mosque in Africa, the majestic Hassan II Mosque. Learn about the history and significance of this mosque on a tour by a Local Guide. Gaze upon the intricate, colorful artistry of ceramic tile and hand-carved stone of this architectural wonder. This evening say farewell to your fellow travelers with an enjoyable Heart of Casablanca Traditional Moroccan Dinner. This superb evening out features a cocktail demonstration and traditional Moroccan dinner in a picturesque setting.
