Buongiorno, welcome to Rome! Transfers to your accommodations are complimentary at select times. A complimentary welcome basket with breakfast supplies and local treats will be provided. Enjoy the day at your leisure before meeting up with your fellow travelers and HGV host for a welcome dinner.
In the morning, journey to the Umbria region and visit the town of Orvieto. Famous for its ornate Duomo Cathedral and situated atop a volcanic rock mound, Orvieto is also an excellent region for producing white wines.
You’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the town and see the Renaissance frescos by Signorelli at the Duomo Cathedral.
Tour the Etruscan caves and galleries before enjoying lunch with a tasting menu of local Orvieto food and wine atop the labyrinth of caves and galleries.

Option 1: Caprarola and Villa Lante
Travel to the magnificent Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, where a guide will lead you through this stunning Renaissance palace filled with art and history. After a delicious lunch at a charming local restaurant, visit the exquisite Villa Lante in Bagnaia. Wander through its beautifully landscaped gardens and elegant fountains at your own pace.
Option 2: Lake Bracciano and Anguillara Sabazia
Journey south to the serene Lake Bracciano where you will board an exclusive ferry, the Sabazia, complete with an onboard bar and refreshments. Relax as you cruise past picturesque lakeside towns, soaking up breathtaking views. Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely lunch in the charming town of Anguillara Sabazia, followed by a guided walking tour and free time to shop or take a refreshing swim in the lake.
Journey to the northern region of Viterbo and explore the wine region. You’ll drive along the scenic Lake Bolsena to the hill town of Montefiascone known for its DOCG (denominazione di origine controllata e garantita), light white wine, and tour a local winery followed by a wine and olive oil tasting.
Next, visit a buffalo farm home to over 200 buffalo, where you will learn about their care and the mozzarella-making process. Enjoy a tasting of fresh buffalo mozzarella paired with the region’s renowned Est! Est! Est! white wine.
Then it is time to enjoy lunch at a local Montefiascone restaurant. This afternoon, take a panoramic tour through the Viterbese countryside, followed by free time to explore the historic village, nicknamed The City of the Popes.
Get an early start and explore the Tuscan medieval town of Siena. Famous for its iconic Piazza del Campo, the Walls of Siena and towering Siena Cathedral, you’ll have the choice of how you’d like to tour the town.
Enjoy sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside, its architectural beauty and tour historic Siena with a walking or cycling tour.
Later, gather for a tasting-style lunch featuring delicious local flavors. Then take some free time to explore Siena on your own before returning to Soriano for the evening.
Head north from Soriano to the charming town of Baschi for an immersive culinary experience at Casale Polegri. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the charismatic owner and chef Lorenzo Polegri. Begin with a guided tour through the estate’s olive groves and vineyards, learning insights into the seasonal harvests and traditional processes used to produce wines and olive oils.
For lunch, you’ll learn to make your own pasta and enjoy other local delicacies. End your afternoon with a visit to a winery and a tasting.
In the evening, you’ll enjoy farewell drinks at your resort, highlighted by the wines from the local regions you’ve explored.
Your Central Italy resort escape ends with a transfer to the airport and journey homeward.

Nonrefundable, non-transferable deposit of $1,000/£750 per person is due at the time of booking. Final payment due by December 19, 2025. Tour itinerary activities in this region may be subject to favorable weather conditions. The Palazzo Catalani and the Palazzo at Soriano resorts are positioned on the slope of a hill with steep gradients and inclines around the resort. A short walk will be required from the resort to the transport vehicles as the road is not accessible for larger vehicles. Elevators are only located in the Palazzo at Soriano building. The tour is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Alcoholic beverages are only available to travelers who are 18 years or older.
A passport valid for six months past the end date of this trip is required for all guests. Entry requirements may vary for passport holders from other countries.
